Scale or a balance from within?

Elisabeth C. Wajnryt Compulsive Eating

On the cover of my book “And Were They Happily Thin Forever?”there is a special scale.

Instead of numbers, “emoticons” expressing our feelings when we weigh.  Happy? Euphoric? Guilty? Sad? Anxious?

How about the pointer in the middle, where we can feel simply satisfied?  You will answer me that feeling satisfied with your weight is a lie, because anyone nowadays wants to lose at least a couple of pounds even if he is thin. Feeling satisfied would be too dangerous, because it means stop taking care of yourself and falling into a state of indulgence on eating everything.

There’s a more a more neutral, less emotional, more practical and effective way of living in our bodies, whatever our weight. It involves a structured work on self knowledge, both psychological as physiological. In this process, how much we weigh, how much we want to weigh and how we can achieve this objective become a Personal Equation, which variables we are able to choose and manage.
